On Tuesday 22nd November 2011 my Year 1 class & I went on a yesteryear excursion to a place called “Tranby House”.

It was a really old house & we got to learn about how people did things in the olden days. We learned how to collect sticks & wood to light a fire for cooking, lighting & heating, we were shown how to collect ground water, we were taught how to wash our clothes by hand & we were also played games like hoops, coits, knuckle bones & hopscotch. My favourite game was quoits. When it was time to go the lady asked if we had fun. Everyone said “Yes” & I said “Yes, because this is what I do when I go to my shack at Wedge”.
